Sun Tree . Solarquest
The first urban tree to recharge the city
The challenge
Solarquest sought to give a desirable and memorable shape to a major technological innovation: a photovoltaic urban tree capable of generating solar energy and simultaneously charging electric vehicles right in the public space.
The design response
Sun Tree is an artificial tree whose canopy is composed of adjustable photovoltaic panels. Its structure evokes nature while fully embracing its technological identity — neither a botanical pastiche nor a purely industrial object. The charging stations are discretely integrated into the trunk. Full mission: concept, invention of structure, general engineering, technical and industrial development monitoring.
