City of Amiens

A pixelated forest

The challenge

To design the complete street furniture line for a City of Amiens tender — including bus shelters, benches, and kiosks — by developing a coherent identity rooted in a strong narrative theme connected to the city’s unique identity.

The design response

The entire furniture range is organized around the “pixelated forest” concept: pixels of colored glass drift away from the main roof like windblown leaves, settling here and there on the metal structures. The effect changes with the light and time of day — understated in the morning, vibrant and colorful at dusk. Full mission encompassing concept, structural invention, general engineering, fine-tuning, and technical development follow-up.
